Big Bet On Virat by Sangakkara
Virat will break record in 2018- Kumar Sangakkara
Two double centuries, one century and a fifty – these are a portion of the features of Indian skipper's Virat Kohli in the as of recently finished up Test series against Sri Lanka. With his solid form, Kohli scored 610 runs in 5 innings at the average of 152 and earned himself the Man of the Series award. The performance of Indian skipper more proved to be fruitful with International Cricket Council (ICC) reporting on Thursday that the right-hand batsman has moved up to the second position in ICC Test batting rankings.
It is only one of the numerous things that have gone right for Kohli this year. In 2017, he has scored 2818 runs over all cricket formats, the third most highest by any player, with just Kumar Sangakkara (2868 in 2014) and former Australian skipper Ricky Ponting (2833 in 2015), above him. With his consistency in batting, nobody is left questioning Kohli's capacity, including Sangakkara himself, who said that the Indian skipper will have the capacity to break his record in 2018.
Answering to a tweet by a BBC Sri Lankan reporter, the former Sri Lankan cricketer said that Kohli belongs to different class. ”I don’t think that will last long the way @imVkohli is batting. He will probably overtake it next year and then do it again the year after. He is a different class." Kumar Sangakkara on the Twiter.
Unfortunately, the Indian skipper cannot break Sangakkara's record this year as he has been put on bench for rest for the upcoming ODI and T20 series against Sri Lanka this month and will just return next year for the test series against South Africa.
